Acceptable standards for all laboratory medicine facilities in
Manitoba: |

i. |
Assurance that results are managed appropriately in these
facilities. |
| (b) |
Assurance that all Manitoba facilities abide by the Standards
set forth by MANQAP regarding education, quality
assurance and standards of practice: |

i. |
Assurance taht standards are met through the accreditation of
facilities. |

ii. |
Assurance that appropriate education takes place during the
accreditation process. |
|
iii. |
Asurance that appropriate quality assurance processes are in
place during the accreditation visit. |
Authority
-
The committee has no authority to spend College resources
without specific Council approval.

The committee has authority to use staff time related to
administrative support for meeting logistics only.

The committee does not have authority to change or contravene
any College Bylaw or policy.
Composition
The
Subcommittee will consist of:
(a) one individual appointed by Manitoba Health, and
(b) at least 4 other persons, one of whom is a
Councillor of the College.
Term of Office
Each member of
the Subcommittee shall serve a four year term, and shall be
eligible to serve for 2 consecutive terms of four years each.
After a
Subcommittee member has served 2 consecutive terms, that member is
not eligible to be a Subcommittee member for a period of 2
years. After the 2 year period, the individual is
eligible to serve for a further 2 consecutive terms.
Exceptions to this must be approved by Council.
Status as Council Committee
It is the
intent of Council that, in the future, subcommittees of Program
Review Committee will function as operational committees
that report to the Registrar. Therefore, by no later
than June 2006, the Laboratory Medicine Subcommittee will cease to
be a subcommittee of Council.
