Committees

The following Committees of Council oversee aspects of the complaints and investigations process and may be involved in the processing of a complaint The extent of each Committee’s involvement will depend on the nature of the concern and how easily the concern is addressed to the satisfaction of the complainant and whether formal discipline is necessary.

Complaints

Investigation

- For a discussion of its handling of investigations and review of matters referred to it go to Investigation Committee
Appeals
- For detailed information regarding the composition, authority and formal requirements of the Appeal Committee, refer to its Terms of Reference
- For information on its handling of appeals from the Investigation Committee’s decisions go to Appeal Committee

Each Committee receives administrative support from the staff of the Complaints and Investigation Department and has its own processes.
