Physician Profile - General Disclaimer

Physician profile information is provided by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba pursuant to legislative requirements of The Medical Act and the Physician Profile Regulation.  This website identifies all physicians currently registered on the Manitoba Medical Register and licensed to practice in Manitoba.  Profiles are available only for physicians who are currently practising in Manitoba or who are currently suspended from practice in Manitoba.  

 Most of the information contained on the profile system has been self-reported by physicians and has not been verified by the College.  Although the information is self-reported, physicians are required by law to provide accurate and complete information for the profile system, and the College expects physicians to comply with this requirement.

The information on the profile system is dynamic and will change over time.  Physicians are required by law to provide an update as changes occur.  Upon receipt of updated information, changes are recorded in the College’s database and transferred to the profile web site on a regular schedule. 

The Physician Profile Regulation does include a process for resolution of disputes between the College and a physician respecting the content of his or her profile.   Where a dispute occurs, posting of information may be delayed.

The College makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or usefulness of physicians’ information and assumes no responsibility for errors or omissions contained therein.  Assessing accuracy, completeness, timeliness or usefulness of any information obtained from the profile system and assessing how any of the profile information is used are solely the responsibility of the user. 

 The College examines the credentials of applicants for registration in Manitoba.  Registration indicates that the College is satisfied that the physician meets the requirements for registration in Manitoba including academic and postgraduate clinical training.  However, the profiles are not legal documents and are not intended to be used as such, including use as a substitute for official records for credentials verification purposes.  Any organization that requires official credentials verification should contact the Registration Department of the College.

 The profile content is provided for general information only.  It should not be construed as legal or medical advice or opinion.  The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba does not assume responsibility, nor will it be liable for damages incurred from use of or reliance upon information contained in the profiles.
