Field of Practice
Family Practice
Family Practice physicians may be specifically licensed to
provide care in one or more of the following areas of practice:

Adult care

Pediatric care
-
Surgery
-
Obstetrics
-
Anaesthesia
Exclusion of one or more areas from a practitioner’s
license is often the result of the physician’s own
choice to limit areas of practice.
Specialty Field
Manitoba uses a system of defined registration and
licensure. Pursuant to this system, physicians who
train in a particular area of medicine will be registered and
licensed to practice only in that area. Physicians who
have licensure in a specialty field may or may not have Royal
College certification in that specialty. Information on

Physicians may have licensure in more than one specialty
field.
