| Safe Surgery Saves Lives |
The goal of the Safe Surgery Saves Lives (SSSL) Collective is to bring people together who are working on improving surgical safety in Canadian healthcare.
The Checklist Action Series is the first program to be launched. It is a 3 month virtual initiave for Canadian surgical programs, teams and individuals to assist with effective implementation of a surgical checklist. |

Invitation to Participate: International Medical Graduates Focus Group Discussion
The Office of the Manitoba Fairness Commissioner will be holding an important focus group discussion for International Medical Graduates who have arrived in Manitoba after 2000 and are now successfully licensed and employed in their profession.
The purpose of this discussion is to learn more about the different paths International Medical Graduates have taken to attain their Canadian designation. Our office will use the information gathered from the discussion to better understand how we can help future internationally educated teachers during the registration process.
As a practising physician in Manitoba, your experiences are invaluable. We invite you to take part and share your thoughts with us in this important focus group discussion. The focus group discussion will be held at: Canad Inns Polo Park - 1405 St. Matthews Ave, Ambassador Room J, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Buffet supper will be provided.

Joan and Dean Sandham have established an endowment fund which has been matched by the President's Fund at The University of Manitoba. The fund will be used to offer scholarships to Aboriginal students who are passionate about Medicine or Nursing and who are pursuing further degree studies that will specifically server to enhance and develop leadership skills, in order to advance their professional career in delivering high quality health care.

| Manitoba 8th Annual Travel Health Conference |
This conference provides a comprehensive overview of the latest research in travel medicine and infectious diseases, as well as the most current information on Canadian guidelines. It is intended for all those whop practice or are interested in the discipline of Travel Medicine and Infectious Diseases; in particular travel medicine health care practitioners, medical practitioners, nurses, pharmacists and students who practice travel medicine within fields of primary care, occupational medicine, infectious diseases and tropical medicine, emergency medicine as well as public health medicine. |
