Guideline No. 334 - Summary : Physicians' Services in Personal Care Homes

PURPOSE

      The intent of this guideline is:

     Clinical judgement should prevail in the management of the sick elderly.

     This guideline replaces the "Guidelines to Physicians' Services in Personal Care Homes - 1992".

AUTHORSHIP
 
     The guideline has been extensively reviewed by a number of geriatricians and family physicians in conjunction with Manitoba Health, the Manitoba Medical Association and the College of Physicians and Surgeons.  The College also appreciates the input of the Long Term Care Branch, Manitoba Health, into the preparation and distribution of this document.
