First cycle completed

The Quality Improvement Program (QI) is proud to announce that the first cycle of the program has been completed. The cycle ran from January 2019 to December 2025.

During that time, we have interacted with 2930 registrants, and 2194, or 75% of those registrants, have completed the program. Participants were surveyed about their experience with the program and the feedback received has largely been positive.

A new cycle begins

The QI Program will begin its second cycle of operation this spring.  Registrants must participate once every seven-year cycle, and this will be approximately seven years from first participation. Based on the experience of the first cycle, changes have been implemented.

All participants are asked to complete a small-scale assessment of their practice/work through a quality lens, with some participants doing this via a chart review or multisource feedback. Participation in similar work for other organizations, such as RCPSC or CFPC, will be considered for equivalency. This will align the QI Program with other similar programs across the country.

The QI Program is recognized by both the RCPSC and the CFPC as meeting the requirements for Assessment Category CPD credits.

Participants have provided feedback on practice changes resulting from this reflective process that is tailored to each situation.  CPSM is proud to support ongoing practice improvement and interact in a positive and meaningful way with our registrants.
